Stunning Bandra architecture

Now, now...déjà vu.                        I visited Shillong where my dad was posted at the lia-kor peak airforce station when I was barely 10, but this piece of slated roof and mix of yellow & brown colours made me do a sudden flashback moment.

Yeah - this is bandra. A hidden castle on bandstand. Luckily the watchman let me wander around and take photos. 

ain't this just a great piece with monolith pillars and the dual roofs are so ornately developed in sandstone colours.                      The sad part is that this marvellous building is full of squat dwellers.

Well, I spend a fabulous afternoon on bandstand ! Little did I realise that I would end up discovering some great pieces of architecture and homes! One of my fav hobbies 

This piece of Art Deco meets baroque is stunning. The windows, the twin stairwells, the gate are all so interestingly interlaced together.

10 days to Christmas ! The best time of the year has arrived....this weekend the mood was certainly accelerated: Xmas bazaars, hill road had a row of stars, mount Mary church had choir practice, in the rooms to dark night. And I have been attracted to a lot of reds and greens lately......

New year celebrations....

                    New year celebrations at our garment manufacturing plant, the colourful flags, the streamers, the rangoli, the craftsmen, the tailors, the kharigars, all buoyant and bursting of hope and the  coming prosperous year, the harbinger of new orders, new late nights, new delivery deadlines, only makes this day which comes only once every 365 days a really celebration of our hard work.

Finally, the Diwali evening has arrived....bright lights, marigold flowers, Diya's, rangoli and lots of parties and prayers and puja! It's magical November, and it's the eclipse tommorrow ! Waiting for Sunday crackers time. The tradition is always at the golmaal store at Loki !

It's Diwali time and my nephew Arjo is so adorable, he is a delight and makes a myriad of faces, each so versatile. Looking at a newborn refreshes the mind, heart, and soul and renews and refreshes the world through the lenses of a child....eager to be in the world! Living life like a newborn....

November Chic-ster

Chic-ster !                             It's November rain time and fall season changes into winter in certain corners of the globe. For those cold slewn areas I present the 'chic-ster' from my newest works.                                        This dress is cut from a handwoven shawl sold by Himjoli NGO from uttarakand. I stumbled upon it at the jaipur literature festival. Of course the colours and the texture spoke to me and I saw 'potential'.

Art auction by room to read

Room to read's art auction of some great pieces of art. A fabulous Sunday evening, with Sangita Wadhwani and Asma. Sangita paints as well. We were in jaipur together earlier thus year where we attended talks by some eminent writers ! All in all, a memorable Sunday night in mumbai.

It's a great time to have the creative eye, which I always had! When I signed up for the May Queen title, I scoured for my outfit- and found a 'high neck' beaded black gown with a thigh high slit in the front. My shoes was a four inch black court shoe from regal shoes and sheer leggings to give a gloss look for the stage. My hair, was pulled back in a high chignon. I always broke the boundaries in my dressing sense, and listened to my inner compass - this is an archive picture of me as the May Queen. I didnot ask for my parents permission to participate, I just signed up on my own initiative, because it's was my inner belief in myself always-to try the realm of the unknown and to push myself - and conquer fear! Failure is not to be run away from - but to run towards, head on! And win- the world belongs to winners......and the same when I faced an 8000 people crowd and won the navy queen title, wearing an off shoulder gown with boning, faux diamond choker and white net gloves, very lady di - whose style I love!

Ghazal night !

It's countdown to the most exciting time of the year. Going for a ghazal night and have an invitation to the square key opening too! Well, I can only do one thing and ghazal night sounds super exciting at a super cool girlfriends house. Her name is Juhi rai and love her vibe ! So I am ready to dance every night till dec 31st - lets party !
